ESPN's SportsCenter Returns to Coastal Carolina University

Posted On: September 21, 2026

The Grand Strand will be in the national spotlight Thursday, Sept. 24, as ESPN brings SportsCenter On Campus back to Coastal Carolina University ahead of the Chanticleers’ matchup against Liberty.

SportsCenter anchor Matt Barrie and former NFL quarterback Chase Daniel will broadcast live from Teal Town during the 5 p.m. edition of SportsCenter. Fans are encouraged to arrive early, wear teal and gather behind the set to help showcase Teal Nation to a national audience.

The excitement will continue into the evening when Coastal Carolina and Liberty kick off at 7:30 p.m. at Brooks Stadium. The game will air nationally on ESPN and will serve as Coastal Carolina’s annual Teal Out.

“We saw two years ago what Teal Nation can bring when SportsCenter came to Conway, and we want to take it to another level this time,” said Chance Miller, Coastal Carolina vice president for intercollegiate athletics and university recreation. “Show up early, be loud for Chant Walk and carry that energy into Brooks Stadium. With the game on ESPN, we have another chance to show the country why Coastal Carolina is such a special place.”

A national spotlight on the Grand Strand

The ESPN broadcasts offer more than a big moment for Chanticleer football. It is also an opportunity to put Coastal Carolina University, Conway and the greater Grand Strand in front of a national audience.

Major events and national broadcasts help tell the story of our region, bringing attention to the people, places and experiences that make the the Myrtle Beach region a great place to live, work and visit. A packed Teal Town and Brooks Stadium can help make that impression even stronger.

This will be the second time in three seasons that SportsCenter has broadcast from Coastal Carolina. The program visited Conway in November 2024, and ESPN’s College GameDay came to campus in December 2020.

Join Teal Nation on Sept. 24

SportsCenter On Campus begins at 5 p.m. from Teal Town, located southeast of Brooks Stadium near the Coastal Carolina Indoor Practice Facility. Kickoff against Liberty is set for 7:30 p.m. on ESPN.

Grand Strand businesses, residents, students and fans are encouraged to show up, wear teal and help give a national audience a look at the energy of our community. Coastal Carolina shared a special ticket link with Greater Myrtle Beach Collaborative to share with our members.
